Guild Outing

The weather was kind when a group of ladies from the Church Guild enjoyed an afternoon outing to Kinross House Garden. The setting and layout of the garden was much appreciated, as was the unusual way in which the flowers were presented. They were massed in large displays of a single colour - eye-catching blue in one area, and yellow in another, and so on. After the visit, they went to Dobbies Garden Centre at Kinross for a very welcome afternoon tea.

Church News

The last of the July services which were held jointly with St. Johns Church, Cupar, and at which members led the worship, was held on Sunday. The general consensus appears to be, that though a most unusual departure from the customary form of service, it was a welcome venture. From Sunday 7th August, there will be a return to the customary hour long service, which will be conducted this week by the Rev. Graham Blount. Sadly, it is still not possible to serve refreshments in the hall, but estimates are now awaited for the repair, and it is hoped it will not be too long before work can begin.

Coffee Morning

Planning has begun for the annual coffee morning to be held in the Corn Exchange on Saturday, 27th August, but it is time to begin looking out items for the usual stalls. Home baking will be needed too, and details of when and where to hand in donations will be announced later.

Community Council

The next meeting of the Community Council is to be in the Memorial Hall on Thursday, 18th August at 7.30pm. The latest news on the various issues affecting the village- traffic calming, speed restrictions, a crossing on the Main Road, new building and any other - are likely to arise at the meeting, so it is hoped for good support then.

Barn Dance

There are still a few tickets available for the Barn Dance at Edenbank Farm tomorrow, the 13th. They can be booked by phone to Carol Owen.
