At the service last Sunday, 12 hardy souls braved the snow to attend and enjoy the readings and carols. The service was lead by members of the congregation.
The annual New Year's Day walk will leave from outside the church at 2pm. It is advised to wear strong footwear. A warming cup of tea will be served in the church hall upon return. All welcome.
Despite the snow and ice, all the church services over the Christmas period went ahead. The annual walk on New Year's Day was shorter than usual because of the icy conditions, but on a lovely bright day it was a most enjoyable way to start the year.
The group recommenced on January 13, a week later than planned due to the bad weather. The year has started with an appeal for new committee members. The group can only run if we have a full committee. Sarah Whiston, who has been with us as secretary since the beginning, has unfortunately had to hand in her notice because her son will be going to nursery in April. She'll be missed and a huge thank you goes out to her for all her hard work. Rob Watts was replaced temporarily by Lucas Berghuis as treasurer, but now we welcome Fiona Inglis to the role. Marianne Berghuis currently remains as chairperson. However, with only two committee members we desperately need to find somebody else by April or the group runs the risk of closure. Please don't let this happen as so much has been done already to get the group up and running. It only takes a little time and lots of enthusiasm to be on the committee, and that way you get a say in what we do and the activities we plan. We have plenty of children on our register we just need some of the adults to get more involved as well! To nominate yourself, or find out more, please contact Marianne. Dairsie Tots Group runs every Wednesday morning in the Dairsie Memorial Hall from 10 a.m. - noon.
